Levosalbutamol is used to treat bronchospasm and symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. It relaxes the muscles in the airways and increases airflow to the lungs. LEVOSALBUTAMOL makes breathing easier by widening the airways.

Guaifenesin is used to try to help with coughing up thick mucus and is sometimes combined with dextromethorphan, an antitussive (cough suppressant), such as in Mucinex DM or Robitussin DM. It is also combined with ephedrine to produce Primatene and Bronkaid tablets for symptomatic relief of asthma.

It is functionally related to a dextrorphan. It is an enantiomer of a levomethorphan. Dextromethorphan is a levorphanol derivative and codeine analog commonly used as a cough suppressant and also a drug of abuse. Although similar in structure to other opioids, it has minimal interaction with opioid receptors.
